Returns & Refunds
Every copy purchased through this website is signed by me; I take great care in personally preparing and packing each order.
If something goes wrong, I’ll do my best to put it right. Just do be aware that I am a one-man show and may need slightly more time to respond than, say, John Lewis…
Here comes the legal jargon.
Signed and personalised books
If you request a personal inscription or dedication, your book is prepared specifically for you. Under UK consumer law, clearly personalised goods are generally exempt from the usual 14-day right to cancel if you change your mind.
This does not affect your statutory rights if your book arrives damaged, faulty, incorrectly personalised or not as described.
Returns of non-personalised books
If you purchase a signed book without requesting a personal dedication or inscription, you have the right to cancel your order within 14 days of receiving it, without giving a reason.
To exercise this right, please notify me within that 14-day period using the contact details below. You then have a further 14 days to return the book.
You are responsible for the cost of return postage when cancelling. Please package the book securely to prevent damage in transit.
You may examine the book as you would in a bookshop. However, a reasonable deduction from your refund may be made if handling damage has reduced the book’s re-sale value.
Damaged, faulty or incorrect orders
If your book arrives damaged, faulty, incorrectly personalised or otherwise not as described, please contact as soon as possible.
Include your order number and a brief description of the problem. Photographs are helpful.
We will arrange an appropriate replacement or refund in accordance with your statutory rights. Where a return is necessary because the book is faulty or not as described, we will cover reasonable return postage.
Your rights under the Consumer Rights Act 2015 are unaffected by this policy.
Cancelling or changing an order before dispatch
If you need to cancel or amend an order, please contact us as quickly as possible.
We will do our best to accommodate requests before dispatch. However, once a personalised inscription has been requested, the usual change-of-mind cancellation rights do not apply.
Refunds
For valid cancellations of non-personalised orders, the amount paid will be refunded, including any applicable standard delivery charge.
Refunds will be issued within 14 days of receiving the returned book or receiving evidence that you have sent it back, whichever is earlier. We may withhold the refund until one of these conditions has been met.
If you cancel before your order has been dispatched, refunds will be sent within 14 days of being informed of your cancellation.
Refunds will be made using the original payment method unless we agree otherwise. You will not be charged a fee for receiving your refund.
